Have wind turbine inspection carried out

Various types of wind turbines are equipped with accumulators. These accumulators are classified as pressure equipment on the basis of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). If the requirements in this directive are met, the wind turbines may be placed on the market. In addition, the commissioning of the wind turbine in the Netherlands is subject to an inspection requirement by a Dutch inspection body. This is set out in the Pressure Equipment Commodities Act Decree. Users of wind turbines are obliged to have inspections carried out. The inspection before commissioning applies to accumulators that are classified in category III and IV of the PED. After the first inspection, a periodic re-inspection follows after four years.
