When is the inspection mandatory?

There is a mandatory inspection for pressure equipment in stationary LPG, propane and butane installations. ECH takes care of all necessary testing and inspection activities. The inspection applies to users and owners. The inspections are for both new and existing installations.

What types of inspections are there?

The inspections can consist of a conformity assessment, inspection before commissioning and periodic inspection. Supervision can also be given to the implementation of modifications and repairs to existing installations. On request, an additional inspection can be carried out based on, for example, PGS 16, PGS 19 or PGS 23.

Do you want to be sure your installer has sufficient resources and the right knowledge to perform the work properly? Installation companies that perform work on LPG and propane installations can become an approved installer based on the NPR 2578. 

What does the periodic inspection entail?

An inspection is carried out based on an extensive checklist. The following aspects are checked during the inspection:

• internal inspection;
• external inspection;
• installation site.

After the inspection, you receive a report and, if the findings are positive, an inspection certificate.
