Inspection of compressed air installation

A compressed air installation often consists of several pressure-containing components: a compressed air vessel, piping, filters and dryers. These pressure-containing components can be considered as work equipment. As the owner or user you are obliged to have safe work equipment (based on the Working Conditions Act/WBDA2016). Compressed air installations are often used at system operators, food and pharmaceutical industries, medical institutions, and in other processing industries.

When is compressed air inspection required by NL CBI?

For a compressed air vessel which meets at least one of the two following conditions:

• Content > 2500 litre
• Design pressure > or equal to 30 bar (g).

What does the inspection entail?

An inspection is carried out based on an extensive checklist. The following aspects are
checked during the inspection:

• internal inspection;
• external inspection;
• installation site.

After the inspection, you receive a report and, if the findings are positive, an inspection
certificate.
